Enjoy a scenic journey from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve, arriving for lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive in this semi-arid wilderness known for its rare Northern Kenya species like the Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and Somali Ostrich, alongside big cats, elephants, buffalo and abundant birdlife. Spend the second day exploring Samburu on morning and afternoon game drives with time to relax at your lodge in between. On the final day, depart after breakfast with a short en-route game drive before returning to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
You will be picked up from your hotel or the airport and driven to Samburu National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch before enjoying an afternoon game drive. Samburu is known for its wild semi-arid landscape, rich wildlife, and rare Northern Kenya species such as the Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, and Somali Ostrich, along with big cats, elephants, buffaloes, and many other animals. The reserve is also a top bird-watching destination with hundreds of species, and offers a unique cultural experience with the local Samburu people. Dinner and overnight at the lodge or camp.
DAY 2: FULLDAY IN SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
Early morning game drive in the
reserve. Later, return to the camp for breakfast. Rest of the mid-morning at
relaxation. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive in the reserve.
Dinner and overnight at Lodge/Camp/Tent
DAY 3: SAMBURU TO NAIROBI
Early morning breakfast and thereafter drive back to Nairobi en-route short game drive. You will later proceed to Nairobi with optional lunch on the way. (At your own expenses)
